Episode 8
"Living Water" | Out Of The Water
SCRIPTURE: Exodus 1–2 / Psalm 18:1-3 / Hebrews 11:23-25
SHOW NOTES: God had a specific plan and purpose for the life of Moses. In Psalm 106:23 Moses is called, “His chosen one.” Pharoah and the Egyptians were in dread of the people of Israel. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied.
A beautiful baby boy was born to a Levite couple and his mother set him in a floating basket on the Nile River. In God’s timing and providence, Pharoah’s daughter came to the river and found the baby. She drew him “out of the water” and named him, Moses. We often forget the hardships and struggles the people of Israel faced in Egypt for over 80 years – we quickly read past the decades of affliction and burden.
But God … He protected the life of His chosen one and prepared him for the task ahead. The people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue came up to God. Verses 24 and 25 in Exodus 2 offer great hope for us today. God heard, He remembered, He saw, He knew exactly what was happening in the lives of the people of Israel.
